Katrina Kaif: Give me some respect, we are not kids!

Katrina Kaif is miffed. According to a recent report, the actor and Anushka Sharma got into a catfight over sharing a make-up man. The news of the supposed 'power struggle' has "saddened" the Mere Brother Ki Dulhan actor. To add to her woes came another report, which suggested that she angered Kareena Kapoor by doing a dance number in the Salman Khan-starrer Bodyguard, where Kareena plays the lead.
"Baby (Alvira, Salman's sister) is a dear friend. She asked me to do just one 'mukhda' (opening stanza of the song). It's not even a full song," says an agitated Katrina, adding, "Kareena is a huge star and a wonderful actor. I can guarantee you that this report is not true. Alvira is the producer. Everyone was happy about the song and Kareena was probably even part of that discussion about me doing a dance number."
Calling both the reports "distasteful", she says, "These rumours that make us look like children in a playground, are so disheartening. We are not like that in real life." So why doesn't she put such rumours to rest by commenting on them? "Just because someone is poking me, doesn't mean I have to respond. Such reports are a sign of foolishness," she says.
Visibly distraught, the actor says, "Despite being in the industry for so many years, I have never asked for recognition. When I see people stooping down to that level, it's upsetting. Give me a little bit of respect. I have worked here for very long."
So does she have no issues with Anushka? "She is a lovely girl and is just starting out. I have seen her twice in my life. We all are grown-ups. I don't need to answer these questions and get into this ridiculousness. I'm better behaved than that."
Katrina is currently doing three Yash Raj films Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, Ek Tha Tiger and Yash Chopra's untitled next with Shah Rukh Khan. Anushka, meanwhile, has been known as Yash Raj's 'discovery' and is currently doing her fourth film, Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl with the banner.
Apparently, during the release of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, there were also reports that she and Kalki Koechlin had a spat over who was being promoted more by the film's producers. At that time too, Katrina had refuted reports of having issues with her co-actor, calling her a "flower child".
