Just recently we informed that Amitabh Bachchan's Lucknow trip to promote his film Aarakshan among the young crowd was declined by the district administration, who cited the reason that this meeting may cause law and order problem in the city. The recent development on this report is that the actor is very upset over the cancellation of the interaction session with the student in the Lucknow University.
Mr Bachchan wrote on his micro-blogging site, “And now the bad news .. our Lucknow trip tomorrow cancelled because the U.P administration withdraws all permission to conduct promo..”
It is also reported that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati may arrest Amitabh Bachchan if he dares to enter the state for the promotion of the Prakash Jha direction Aarakshan. “The administration does not allow us to enter the city.. unofficial reports by police say they have instructions to arrest us if we do,” he added
Reportedly, a lot of agitation regarding the concept of the film has already been seen in the city. Political parties have been opposing the film claiming that Aarakshan is an anti-dalit film. Looking at all the agitation regarding Aarakshan in the entire country, Jha says that his film is not a political one. He clears that it is based on the status of higher education in India today. On the other hand Amitabh was quoted by a leading daily saying that questions on the film will continue to arise but reservation is a constitutional reality in our country and one has to accept it.
Aarakshan apart from Amitabh stars Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, Prateik Babbar and Manoj Bajpayee in the leading role. The film will hit the screen on October 12.
