Asin's 8 year old male admirer

Asin
Asin has found a new admirer in her Housefull 2 producer Sajid Nadiadwala's son Subhaan.

Says a source close to Asin, "During the entire London schedule, Subhaan appeared to be completely smitten by Asin and kept showering her with gifts from chocolates to lollypops, roses and teddy bears. The eight-year old would keep following her around.

She found it very sweet and spent as much time as she possibly could with him. This is the first time that Asin has found a young, male admirer." Wonder if Neil Nitin Mukesh is listening? Had he had taken tips from the kiddo, Asin wouldn't have broken off with him.

Ajay Devgn, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan: The Billion-Dollar club

Salman Khan

Aamir Khan, Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn are the only Bollywood actors in the exclusive billion-dollar club.

Their films 3 Idiots, Ghajini, Ready, Dabangg and Golmaal 3 are the only ones to have done business of over Rs 100 crore in the domestic market. In fact, Aamir's 3 Idiots is the highest Bollywood earner of all time. Salman's Dabangg and Ready are in the number 2 and 3 slot respectively. Ajay is next with Golmaal 3, and his Singham continues to roar, showing signs of setting second and third week records.
Another trade analyst Vajir Singh says, "Going by the extraordinary opening at single screens and a good opening at multiplexes, Singham will cross the 100-crore mark soon."

Says Devgn, "It feels great to have two films on the list of the biggest earners in Hindi cinema...that too through Golmaal 3 and Singham! It's unreal - much more than what we had hoped for. The flipside is that with great success comes a lot of pressure about your next film. Also, the success quotient changes every Friday. Today, it is my day; tomorrow it will be somebody else's. After 20 years of success and failure, it doesn't change or excite me much. Now I just try and make the audience happy. I am sure Salman and Aamir feel the same way."

Aamir, who has two superhit films (Ghajini and 3 Idiots), adds, "While I am very happy with the monetary success of both films, I have to confess that merely monetary success does not excite me. I think that films like Taare Zameen Par, Lagaan, Rang De Basanti, Dhobi Ghat, etc., enrich our emotions, and have the ability to create a very positive, inspirational, happy and moving impact on us. What excites me is to be part of this life-changing experience for people and society. I thank my directors and writers for that."
Dabangg producer Arbaaz Khan says, "Salman enjoyed doing the films and the right music, action, characters and script worked for the films. But the business module is changing today along with a growing number of prints, theatres and multiplexes. What is a benchmark today will change with the economics of the business."

I don't believe in starving: Sonam Kapoor

Sonam Kapoor
Just when you thought size zero was on its way out, popstar Rihanna's casual tweet about "starving" herself ahead of a major men's magazine shoot to ensure she looks picture perfect started quite the debate on her micro-blogging page.

Some fans even responded with disappointment, saying the 23-year-old's rather casual remark would inspire thousands of impressionable young teens to follow her endorsement and use extreme measures to achieve that elusive, air-brushed perfection depicted in magazines the world over.

Which brings us to the question: Is 'sexy' a term reserved only for the slender of frame? And do our desi celebrities feel the same pressure to constantly keep their curves in check? We speak to some reigning B-Town beauties and models about their take on this...

Jacqueline Fernandez
It's my job to look my best at all times. But starving to look good is a no-no. Nothing is worth risking your health over. Usually I just ensure there's no water retention before a shoot, because it shows up on camera. That means cutting down on salt and having more greens and grains.

Neha Dhupia
I'm very conscious about what I eat. Just like Rome wasn't built in a day, you can't achieve a fit body overnight. You need to work hard at it and that takes time. And yes, to look a certain way you need to cut down on certain foods, but that's more about eating healthy than anything else. On the flip side, the pressure to look good does get to the best of us, and sometimes you can lose your appetite over it... but I have never starved myself. I am not a size zero and I don't aspire to be. I am a curvy girl and I love my shape. I wouldn't jeopordise my health for one great shot.

Sonam Kapoor
I don't believe in starving myself before a photo shoot. All you require is a good night's sleep. Photoshop can take care of the rest!

Nethra Raghuraman
When you are in a business that requires you to look good everyday, it is not a "one day" kind of pressure. We have to be in shape always. In fact, it is written in the Hindu scriptures that you must give your body a break on the seventh day. That is why people fast on amavasya, because it has a scientific reasoning. By going on a salad or fruit diet for a day or two ahead of a shoot, you are doing yourself a favour. God forbid if you don't look good in a shoot, it'll go down in history and people will talk about it forever.

Candice Pinto
Rihanna is a fitness freak, so she starved herself just before this particular shoot. Once in a while it is ok to do this. There are days when people think that not eating will make them look thinner. This isn't true. In fact, by starving one usually tends to gain weight in the long run.

Now Sridevi has a cricket team

Sridevi

Sridevi is not just back to acting. She will now own a team in the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL). CCL initially involved only stars from the South Indian film industry.

However, last year Sohail Khan bought the Mumbai franchise and formed his team Mumbai Heroes. And this has apparently inspired Boney Kapoor and his wife. "Boney Kapoor and Sridevi have together bought the Bangla franchise," revealed a source.

"In the meantime Priyadarshan along with his wife has bought the Malayalam club," added the source.

Interestingly buzz is that Sridevi and Boney Kapoor may acquire the services of Sourav Ganguly as well. "It is not decided yet. Saurav may be a part of the team as a consultant or even as a player.

Considering he has been hosting TV shows, he too is a part of the television industry and hence eligible," said the source. Boney Kapoor remained unavailable for comments.

Sanjay Dutt's Unseen Tattoo

Sanjay Dutt, arguably Bollywood's most tattooed actor, was recently spotted at the airport with wife Manaayata and children Iqra and Shahran.
While this was the twins' first public appearance, it was also the first time anyone has seen the Deadly Dutt's neck inking. Vishwas Dorwekar of Hakim's Aalim is the tattoo artist responsible for the inking -- a four-inch Tibetan Om with Dutt's Leo zodiac sign and his lucky number 1 below it. It is learnt that the tattoo extends from his hairline to the shoulder blade and is an elaborate, intricate inking on his existing lion's tattoo. Dutt's other known tattoos include the names of his parents on his chest, wife Manaayata's original name (Dilnashin) on his left forearm, a lion tattoo on his right forearm with the words "Simba Rules", two samurai soldiers one below the other on his right arm, an elaborate Lord Shiva inking on his left shoulder/upper arm with the "Om Namah Shivaya" in Sanskrit, a dragon breathing fire on his right shoulder extending to his upper arm.

Katrina Kaif turns designer for Yash Raj's next

Actress Katrina Kaif who has been keen on learning different aspects of film making has gone ahead to add one more merits to her resume. The will not only be sharing screen space with Shahrukh Khan in Yash Chopra's next, but will also start designing her own clothes too.

The actress is already half way through her designing clothes for the film. Even for her film Mere Brother Ki Dulhan the actress was closely related to the designs of her clothes. She had already been in shopping for clothes and accessories with designer Rocky for her chick look in the film with Imran Khan.

Inspired by the immense response that she received for her bohemian rock-star look in Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, the actress approached Yash and Aditya Chopra asking them if she could design her own clothes in her next venture with them.

Katrina now is all set to become an actress cum designer. Katrina told Bangalore Mirror, "I was always interested in fabric, clothes and designing. Maybe I would have been a designer by profession, if I didn't start acting. For the rock-chick look in Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, is not the first time I went shopping for my own clothes and accessories. I dress minimal and unfussy. So deciding my own clothes for my characters is not a big deal."

In the next venture with Yash Raj, Katrina will dress her self up more elegantly and sensuously, unlike her past few looks in Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara and Mere Brother Ki Dulhan. The actress will be seen dressed up in true Yashraj style with desi, elegant, sophisticated and graceful clothing. The actress is very excited for her new role in the industry.

Mahie Gill ready for second marriage

Mahie Gill
After hiding her love life all these years, actress Mahie Gill has made her relationship public. She revealed that she has been dating a handsome guy for over a year and is ready for second marriage after her first marriage failed.

Mahie Gill revealed in an interview to Mid Day that she is in love again. However, she refused to reveal the identity of her man. “I won't tell you his name. He is not from the industry, and is based in Goa. He is very handsome and loving. We've known each other for years, but only started dating the last one and a half year. After my first marriage went wrong, I was very scared to get into relationship. But this guy is really good. He is there by my side whenever I need him. I feel he is the one,” she revealed. “I am ready to take the plunge again,” she added.

Mahie Gill is currently busy with Ram Gopal Varma’s Not A Love Story, which is based on Neeraj Groves murder case. She plays the role of actress Maria Susairaj, who has been accused of engineering Neeraj Grover's murder along with fiance Emile Jerome.

Vidya Balan and I are not married; Siddharth Roy Kapur

All Vidya Balan fans can now take a breathe of relaxation as all the rumors about her marriage has been rubbished by UTV Motion Pictures head honcho and her alleged boyfriend Siddharth Roy Kapur. “No that not true!” he exclaimed when TOI inquired.
Since past two days, media reports on the actress's wedding has taken the entire industry by storms. The rumour mills have gone ahead to even reports that the actress is currently honeymooning with Siddharth. “Nonsense, its rubbish,” cleared K Sanjay, Vidya Balan's manager. The actress is currently in Mumbai and will resume back to the shooting of Milan Luthria's The Dirty Picture in another two weeks.

The same kind of case earlier happened to actress Rani Mukherjee who has gotten married almost ten times to producer Aditya Chopra according to media reports. Looks like the co-actresses have been sharing a similar kind of fate after the release of the film No One Killed Jessica.

Asin slammed by Bhatt; Bollywood support her

South Indian actress Asin Thottumkal, who has done two blockbusters in Bollywood with Aamir Khan in Ghajini and Salman Khan in Ready, has remained silent on producer Mukesh Bhatt’s recent remark that she doesn’t have a great future in Bollywood. However, her friends in the industry have come to her defence and slammed the filmmaker for making such irresponsible statement.

Anees Bazmee, who directed Asin’s recent hit film, Ready, said that Bhatt should not have made such comments. “Someone who doesn't know about his own future shouldn't be commenting on others. You may have your opinion but you don't say such things, and then you can't predict anything in the film world. You are not God. Asin has all the qualities that a heroine should have, she is a professional and not a one film wonder,” Times of India quoted the director as saying.

Aditya Roy Kapoor, who acted with Asin in Vipul Shah's London Dreams, said that the actress is doing well and is going the right path. “Asin has not got there where she is without any talent. She is doing amazingly well. She is in the right place. All of us had a great time shooting with her,” he said.

Asin’s manager said that the actress has nothing to say on Mukesh Bhatt’s remarks. Well, she has rightly remained silent because she won’t gain from fighting with a senior producer!

Actor Salman Khan and Shreya first met during the the Celebrity Cricket League and since then they have been in touch. Recently the duo were seen sharing a comfortable chemistry at sister Arpita Khan's birthday party. Reportedly it was Salman who had invited her for the bash.

This growing friendship has inflicted speculations that probably Salman will assist Shreya in her next Bollywood venture. The actor however is known for building the careers of a lot of B-Town heroines. Be it Sonakshi, Katrina or Zareen, all of them owe their success to the Dabangg Khan. And now it is Shreya's turn.

Even at the audio launch of Markendeyan in Chennai in June, Salman and Shreya's chemistry kick started the actual gossip mills.

When asked about her growing friendship with Salman, Shreya gave a politically correct answer by saying that Salman is a kind human being and she is single and happy. She requested not to drag her in any kind of controversy.

Shreya made her Bollywood debut with film Tujhe Meri Kasam in 2003 and later on did film Awaarapan in 2007. Though she has become a celebrated actress down south her Bollywood career has gradually faded away. Ram Gopal Varma loves Jacqueline Fernandez's thighs

In his trademark style, Ram Gopal Varma has made a statement, which may not go well with a section of people. Known for making bold comments, the maverick director has not used foul language to praise someone nor taken a dig at his rival this time, rather he has commented on actress Jacqueline Fernandez's thighs.

Speaking to a leading daily, Ram Gopal Varma claims that he never fears what he wants to say and wonders why people get shocked by his frank opinions. He was reacting to his recent comment on Amitabh Bachchan, where he used 'C' word to praise the actor's performance in Bbuddha Hoga Tera Baap.

When he was asked, whether he liked recently released Bollywood film Murder 2, as Bhatts' are slowly shifting to his kind of films, the maverick filmmaker replied that he loved Jacqueline Fernandez's thighs in the film! However, on the professional front, he is gearing up for his next release Not a Love Story, which is hitting screens on August 19.

Katrina Kaif woos the jawaans

She rode the bike. She played the guitar. And now, she has learnt how to fire a gun like the Indian Army. Katrina Kaif, on Tuesday morning, reached the border district of Rajouri LoC sector to spend three days with the men in uniform.

The programme undertaken by the actress for a television show, saw her doing some major army tricks along with the jawaans in the Forward Post along the Line of Control in the Jhangar area of Nowshere sector in the Rajouri district.

On her first visit to the district of Rajouri, Katrina arrived by road from Jammu to the army mess in Rajouri where she had been put up for the duration of her stay at the camp.

Kick-starting the event, Katrina planted saplings in the compound. And though civilians were not allowed to enter the area, top army officials from the Northern Command headquarters in Udhampur, attended the event.

She followed it up with a firing session, rope climbing and river crossing exercise with the army officials in the range. The girl who has undergone an image makeover with her recent films, went a step further and learnt shooting with the jawaans. And she did not stop there. Katrina also learnt the nuances of climbing roofs and crossing a river the way it's done at the border along with the men. And while she was learning the ways of the men in uniform, civilians flocked around the area trying to catch a glimpse of the pretty actress sporting army greens.

In fact, the jawaans were overjoyed when their Sheila joined them for lunch at the camp and interacted with them.

Katrina Kaif prefers Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan over Ranbir Kapoor

Katrina had to refuse filmmaker Ayan Mukherjee of ''Wake Up Sid'' fame, a project which is to be produced by Karan Johar, citing unavailability of dates. Reportedly, Ranbir was part of it.
According to sources, in spite of trying to work dates for close friend Karan''s film , Katrina had to opt out of the film due to prior commitments. Katrina was very keen on working with Karan but could not rework the dates to allot for the film.
Presently, Katrina is working around her schedule with ex-beau Salman''s film, ''Ek Tha Tiger'' and next with Aditya Chopra''s untitled film with Shahrukh.

"Katrina had to turn down the film with Karan and Ayan, both of whom she is very close to. She tried her best to accommodate the dates but it was not possible, since she had already committed to ''Ek Tha Tiger'' and Aditya''s film with Shahrukh. She does however look forward to working with them in the near future," a friend of Katrina said.

Yes, I am Madhur’s Heroine: Kareena

Ending weeks of speculation, actor Kareena Kapoor confirmed on Monday that she will be playing the lead in Madhur Bhandarkar’s much-talked about film, Heroine.
“I’ve said yes to Madhur and okayed the script. Now the dates and fee etc are being worked out,” says the 30-year-old, of the film that was ‘shelved’ after 10 days of shoot when its heroine, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, announced her pregnancy, sending Bhandarkar into a state of ‘depression’.
No other actor dared to step into Ash’s shoes for the fear of offending the Bachchan family, a fact that doesn’t seem to bother Kapoor in the least.
“I don’t base my decisions on whether someone will be pleased or offended. I say yes to the script,” she says.
Does that mean Bhandarkar has finally agreed to all the changes she wanted in the script?
“Of course. Madhur has been quite accommodating. But frankly, I don’t know what the fuss is about. It’s not an explosive film anyway.”
The actor has just wrapped up Shah Rukh Khan’s Ra.One, and is looking forward to the 31 August release of her next, Bodyguard, with Salman Khan.
“I’m the only actor who has managed to work with both Shah Rukh and Salman without any discomfort, despite their so called rivalry. That’s only because I’ve never belonged to anyone’s camp. I’m not here to make friends,” she says.
“I don’t go around begging anyone for a role. Both Shah Rukh and Salman must have seen something in my talent and so took me in their films.”
Talking of camps, she’s also working with Imran Khan in Karan Johar’s Short Term Shaadi, while Imran is rumoured to be rival to her cousin Ranbir.
She laughs, “I don’t care about anyone’s rivalry . Imran and I look so good together. As for Ranbir, some girls are having a field day because I can’t be paired with my brother.”
Talking of beau Saif Ali Khan, who she was recently reported to be ‘not getting along with’, she says, “Saifu and I are in a place where no one dare touch us. I’ve stopped reacting to baseless reports about our so called ‘fights’.”
Finally, a revelation: Contrary to what was widely reported, her wax figure to be unveiled at Madame Tussauds won’t bear the Chameli look.
“Not at all! The look is still a big surprise!”

Preity's home production to be shot in Paris

Preity Zinta’s first home production, Ishkq In Paris is going to be an Indo-French collaboration with actors from both countries. “The film should go on the floors by year-end and will be shot entirely in Paris in a start-to-finish three- month schedule,” informs director Prem Soni. “We are
looking at a summer 2012 opening and will be announcing the release date soon.”
Meanwhile, Prem and Preity are in talks with a ‘supportive’ French government for permission to shoot the rom-com at some popular tourist spots in the world’s romance capital, which mirror the local culture and history. “We will definitely be shooting at the historic Eiffel Tower,” asserts the director.
“We are also in talks with an agent to get the car used in Transformers 2 (2009), it’s built into our script.” The script took Prem a year to complete and the title came along with it: “I was shuttling between Paris and Ishkq In Paris. I settled for the latter because ishq (love) has a nice ring to it. It means love and after Love In Tokyo (1966), Ishkq In Paris will take our Bollywood prem kahanis (love stories) one step ahead,” he smiles.
Some time ago, Katrina Kaif was toying with the idea of turning producer with a film titled Paris. Prem insists that this is not the same film. “I took my story to Preity first since it goes with her chulbuli (perky) image. She’s a friend who’d done a special appearance in my debut film, Main Aur Mrs Khanna (2009). She loved the narration I gave her, and immediately agreed to play the lead and then enquired about who was producing it. I asked her to do it herself since she’s been thinking of making a movie anyway,” he reminisces.
Main Aur Mrs Khanna, even with Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor in the lead, didn’t work commercially. Prem has put the failure behind him. “It only pushed me to work harder and make sure I didn’t repeat the same mistakes. I don’t want to live in the past. That film didn’t do well, this one must. Period,” he shrugs.
“I’m lucky to have Preity on board because though she’s a first-time producer, after being around for over a decade as an actor, she knows the business well.” Preity reportedly is in talks with top fashion houses in Paris for an endorsement tie-up and there are plans to create one classic little black dress along the lines of what Audrey Hepburn wore in Breakfast At Tiffany’s (1961) that she will be co-designing and launching as part of her signature line. Prem nods, “Yeah, there’s a plan. In fact there are several plans. Merchan-dising is part of script.”

'Too big' Krrish 2 worries dad Roshan!

Krrish 2 goes on the floors in November. Action director Tony Ching Sui Tung has flown down from Hong Kong and is spending six hours a day with the Roshans, Rakesh and Hrithik, brainstorming on the stunts. The producer-director and his actor-son will soon sit with SFX supervisors to design the visual effects. "We're planning something that's never been attempted on the Indian screen before. If we can pull it off, it will be phenomenal," says Hrithik.
He admits, however, that his dad wakes up every morning, saying, "Maybe I shouldn't make this movie, it's just too big and difficult." Hrithik assures him that this is why they are making Krrish 2. He says, "The conversation lasts a minute but it takes place everyday."
The superhero sequel has already raised huge expectations and is fetching skyrocketing prices. The music rights went for R 6 crore and the satellite rights for R 38 crore, surpassing RA.One's R 35 crore sale. Bidding is expected to be high on the overseas rights too.
In the last decade, five of Hrithik's films - Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai (2001), Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001), Koi.. Mil Gaya (2003), Dhoom 2 (2005) and Krrish (2006) have been in the top grosser list. The non-Khan has also cracked the market abroad.
His recent release, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (ZNMD), is the year's biggest hit overseas, racing to the $5 million mark. In North America, with a flying start, it has taken the No. 10 spot.
The star is upbeat, "The overseas market is a hard one to crack because there's no guarantee that a film that works in India will do well there. So, it's heartening that five of my films (K3G, Dhoom 2 and 2008's Jodhaa Akbar, Kites and ZNMD) have conquered both markets. The breakthrough came with Dhoom 2. The statue at Madame Tussauds also got me a lot of attention and was symbolic of a decade-long journey that should inspire my sons to march ahead despite the hurdles."
Quiz him on entering the league of the Khans, who have ruled the overseas territory for the last 20 years, and he says, "I wouldn't want to lump Shah Rukh, Aamir and Salman together as the 'Khans' because they are distinct individuals who've seen maximum failures, and yet, risen to great heights. We don't see ourselves as superheroes and walk around with crowns on our heads. We're just actors doing what we know best. The advantage is that being the last link in the chain, we get all the eyeballs and praise."

Mallika Sherawat: 'Fans like me drenched

Mallika Sherawat's movie, Politics Of Love, opens in the US on August 26. The Hollywood rom-com is set against the backdrop of the 2008 presidential elections that saw Barack Obama being voted into the White House. Her character, Aretha Gupta, a Democratic volunteer who falls in love with her Republican counterpart Kyle Franklin (Brian White), is loosely based on Californian half-Indian, half-American attorney general Kamala Harris.
Mallika points out that her journey in the movies parallels Obama's in politics. "Both of us were outsiders who gate-crashed the system," she says. "I'm a girl from a small town in Haryana, who without any godfather, carved a small place for herself in a world that the self-proclaimed blue blood of Bollywood thought only they had the privilege to inhabit. And he, an African-American, walks the corridors of power today. In the next election, I'd like to campaign for him. He's asked me to invite him to the premiere of my film because my co-star, Oscar nominee Ruby Dee, is one of his favourites."
Mallika shook hands with the President at the White House, hours after he signed the Al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden's death warrant. She looks surprised: "Really? I wasn't aware of that." Has Osama's killing been worked into the script? "No, there have been no changes based on recent developments," she says.
However, it's no surprise that the film has a sizzling car wash sequence, with her all sudsy in a skimpy outfit. A part of the footage was leaked on to YouTube and has already received over 90,00 hits. "It's a song-and-dance dream sequence that has Kyle fantasising about Aretha... An ode to Bollywood," says Mallika, remembering how cold she was while shooting it. "It was a chilly day, the soap and water was dirty and I wasn't looking very glam. In between shots, they'd wrap me up in blankets so my teeth would stop clattering."
A car wash scene, she adds, was a first for her, but being a movie buff, she remembered Liv Tyler doing one in One Night At MacCool's (2001). "There's one in a Jessica Simpson video too," she says.
Simpson appeared in The Dukes Of Hazzard (2005) and released a cover of the 1966 Nancy Sinatra track 'These boots are made for walkin...'. The song was on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and the video featured Simpson as Daisy Duke, singing in a bar and then washing the General Lee car in a pink bikini. In some countries, the video was banned for its sexual content and Simpson was criticised by a Christian group.
Mallika, who doesn't expect any controversy, is confident the scene will look hot in theatres and will be a hit. She laughs, "My fans like to see me drenched."

Amitabh and team Aarakshan will be arrested on entering UP

Just recently we informed that Amitabh Bachchan's Lucknow trip to promote his film Aarakshan among the young crowd was declined by the district administration, who cited the reason that this meeting may cause law and order problem in the city. The recent development on this report is that the actor is very upset over the cancellation of the interaction session with the student in the Lucknow University.

Mr Bachchan wrote on his micro-blogging site, “And now the bad news .. our Lucknow trip tomorrow cancelled because the U.P administration withdraws all permission to conduct promo..”

It is also reported that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati may arrest Amitabh Bachchan if he dares to enter the state for the promotion of the Prakash Jha direction Aarakshan. “The administration does not allow us to enter the city.. unofficial reports by police say they have instructions to arrest us if we do,” he added

Reportedly, a lot of agitation regarding the concept of the film has already been seen in the city. Political parties have been opposing the film claiming that Aarakshan is an anti-dalit film. Looking at all the agitation regarding Aarakshan in the entire country, Jha says that his film is not a political one. He clears that it is based on the status of higher education in India today. On the other hand Amitabh was quoted by a leading daily saying that questions on the film will continue to arise but reservation is a constitutional reality in our country and one has to accept it.

Aarakshan apart from Amitabh stars Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, Prateik Babbar and Manoj Bajpayee in the leading role. The film will hit the screen on October 12.

Aamir replaces Sanjay Dutt in Munnabhai series?

Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi were a part of the successful Munnabhai franchise that has had two releases till date - Munnabhai MBBS and Lage Raho Munnabhai. The teaser of the third too - Munnabhai Chale Amrika - has already been shot with Dutt and Warsi, however the lack of a good script has led to the projec being on hold.

If sources are to be believed, it's whilst the shooting of '3 Idiots' that Rajkumar Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra considered the option of casting Aamir Khan and Sharman Joshi as Munnabhai and Circuit. The makers, apparently, thought that it would bring about a fresh change to the image and the franchise. In fact, we are told that Aamir was excited about the idea and was game if the script was good enough.

Well, let's wait and watch how this exactly works out for all in the industry, and if it works out at all in the first place.

Shahrukh upset with Ra.One directors?

You rarely see two people directing a film but Shahrukh Khan has reportedly roped in three directors for his much-hyped film, Ra.One. It looks like Shahrukh is upset with the works of his original director Anubhav Sinha. He made his close friend Karan Johar to direct a romantic sequence featuring him and Kareena Kapoor. As if that's not enough, he is said to have made Tarun Mansukhani to direct the final portion of the film.

Sources said that Shahrukh roped in Tarun Mansukhani of Dostana fame to direct Ra.One's final schedule that lasted about 20 days. The scenes Taran directed featured Sanjay Dutt and Priyanka Chopra. The director also took care of a few sequences on Shahrukh and Kareena, as he shares good rapport with the actress.

Ra.One is a superhero film starring Shahrukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor. It is scheduled for release this Diwali.

Dharmendra fan cycles to Mumbai from Varanasi, shooed away

He came all the way from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, riding his bicycle for hundreds of kilometres, just to get a glimpse of yesteryear Bollywood star Dharmendra, but was shooed away by the guards at his bungalow here.

Neeraj Chauhan, 27, rode day and night, for over 1,500 kms to reach Mumbai and meet Dharmendra. "But when I reached his bungalow at Juhu, I was told he is not home," a dejected Neeraj told IANS.

"And this is not for the first time that I have tried to meet him. I had come riding my cycle to Mumbai in 2007 also. But I had not been able to meet him even then," he added.

Neeraj, who stays with his family of seven, that includes his two brothers and two sisters along with his parents, makes photo-frames to earn a living.

"I am a die-hard fan of Dharamji and just wanted to meet him once," he said. "But somehow I couldn't meet him even this time."

Neeraj rode his bicycle for more than 20 hours a day. "I used to ride 10-11 hours in the night and around 11 hours during the day time. I rested merely for three hours every day," he said.

"It took me six days to reach here and I was dead tired, but the temptation to meet Dharamji kept me going," he added.

Not being able to meet the actor has disheartened Neeraj, but he said he will not stop trying.

"I shall try to meet him again tomorrow and then leave for Varanasi, whether or not I meet him. I will try my luck again some other time," he said.

Katrina loses Ranbir to Deepika

Some  time back, reports were there that Katrina Kaif was roped in as the female lead in Ayan Mukerji's film, bannered under Karan Johar's production. However, there's a change in the plan as instead of Katrina, the film's lead role has now been bagged by none other but her arch rival Deepika Padukone.
Katrina was originally signed in for the film that was supposed to go on floors this November. However, the actress was in a fix as she allotted her dates to YRF camp too, for a film with Shahrukh Khan. Apparently, her dates of YRF's movie clashed with that of Ayan's project. Interestingly, Kat even made the news public about signing a film opposite Ranbir without even sorting out her dates for the project. Naturally, the news earned her some quick headlines.
And now that buzz is here with her dates being clashed now, Katrina has finally chosen YRF camp over Ayan's project. In the meantime, Deepika who was looking forward to a film with Ranbir has been chosen as the lead in the film. Insiders say that for the last few days Deepika was preparing her grounds with RK. In fact, the leggy lass also used her upcoming film's 'Aarakshan' platform to send feelers that she has no issues with Ranbir and is open to do films with him.  Well, all we can say with Deepika signed in for the project, guess Katrina has been left out in the cold or may be, she chose SRK over Ranbir.

Aamir's Delhi Belly secret out finally!

Aamir Khan is one actor, who definitely knows all the promotional tactics that'll make his film big at the Box-Office. However, not many know that the actor is also good at keeping secrets under his pillow, subject to circumstances.

However, we have learnt a shocking secret about Mr Perfectionist's promotional song ‘I Hate You,’ from his latest home production ‘Delhi Belly’.

A source from the industry revealed that Aamir had shot for the promotional number ‘I Hate You,’ some three years ago, for another film. At that time, the actor approached some other leading actresses to star with him in the number. However, things didn’t work out and Aamir finished shooting the number alone.

The source further added by saying that Khan decided to keep the video in store, to utilise it for a better opportunity in the future. And, who would have expected then that the video would turn out to be a miracle for his nephew Imran Khan.

Interestingly, when someone questioned Aamir about his look in the said video, he said that he had digitally removed his moustache for the song. He has been sporting a moustache since three months for Reema Kagti’s upcoming untitled project. That says it all, doesn't it?

Well, all that we can say is that Aamir is a true promotional whiz, even at hiding some of his secrets from his fans.

Aishwarya Rai came between Salman & me: Somy Ali

Today, after a short Bollywood career, Somy, originally from Pakistan, has evolved into a US-based human rights activist.
A decade later, the former couple remains in touch. Says Somy, "Salman was my first boyfriend. I had a huge crush on him as a teenager. The crush led me to leave Florida and move to India and join films just so I could find him and get married to him. You have a license of doing idiotic things when you're 15. However, I do not have a single regret of pursuing my first love. They say if you can count four friends on your fingers and trust them blindly, you're extremely fortunate. Salman happens to be one of them. He has a heart of gold and I know for a fact that if I were ever in need he would be the first person that I would call."
In an interview to a lifestyle website, she said, "No regrets at all. I learned a great deal from Salman and his family. Teenage years are formative years for individuals, especially a young girl and spending my teenage years growing up in front of Salman has made me who I am today. Salman and his family taught me that it does not matter what religion one is, what culture one comes from, what makes a person a good person is their actions. He was a good role model to have growing up, outside of the boyfriend aspect of things."
And, who came between her and Salman Khan?? She states categorically, "Aishwarya Rai." But she doesn't blame either. She says, "Neither. They both did what they felt and believed was the right thing to do at that point in time. I don't like to hold grudges. It will only affect my growth as a person."
The last time she met Salman, currently single, was in Bangkok. "I was there for a women's rights conference and he was there for a film shoot in May 2011. We caught up as friends would and talked about our non-profits. We both complimented each other about making a change for the better."
Somy also plans to adopt a baby girl!

Baby boy for Lara Dutta, Mahesh Bhupati: Numerologist

The 'good news' is already out by now and we all know that the gorgeous Lara Dutta is expecting her first baby with hubby Mahesh Bhupathi to be due by end of January 2012. So will it be a baby boy or a girl? While it is too early, astro-numerologist Bhavikk Sanghavi predicts, in all probability, it will be a 'baby boy'.

"Lara (16th April 1978) and Mahesh (7th June 1974), both, are Number 7 (Ketu) people. Likewise, they are also ruled by Number 2 (Moon) as these two numbers always go hand in hand. In fact, Mahesh is ruled by these numbers twice as his destiny number (sum total of his date of birth) also adds up to Number 7", explains Bhavikk.

"On the other hand, Lara is an Arian (ruler Mars - Number 9) and her destiny number also adds up the same number. While Number 7 represents Lord Shiva, Number 9 belongs to Ganesha. That means their offspring would either be an 'avatar' of one of them or both combined", predicts Bhavikk.

"The child will basically grow up to be a sensitive, loving and a caring person; but he will also have traits like aggression, stubbornness, ego and short temperedness in him when rubbed in the wrong way", describes Bhavikk about the yet-to-be-born.

"While Lara is running in her 34th year, Mahesh is in his 38th. The year 2011 which is adding up to Number 4 (Rahu) has been proving primarily lucky for Numbers 1, 2, 4 and 7 people and Lara-Mahesh fit the bill perfectly. Hence Lara will have a safe delivery and it will be a healthy child", says Bhavikk. And nothing matters more than, we believe.

Here's wishing the lovely couple a rejoicing time!

Freida Pinto-Dev Patel: Our relationship is about understanding

Indian actress Freida Pinto, who is dating her Slumdog Millionaire (2008) co-star Dev Patel for two years, says that they have reached an understanding where their career commitments come before their relationship. The 26-year-old met Patel on the sets of the Oscar-winning movie and says that though their work schedules keep them apart for months they don't really mind it.
"We've arrived at a situation where understanding is primary. Now we don't need to Skype all the time, we don't need to talk every day over the phone. It's just understanding that OK, he's doing a film right now, so today is gonna be a busy day for him, he'll call me up tomorrow," Freida said.
The actress who studied English literature at University in Mumbai, added that she never felt "satisfied" by academic studies and though she has accomplished a lot. Yet she feels she and her sister are the "least educated".

Kareena refuses to expose à la Mandakini

After going wet and wild in Asoka, Kareena Kapoor has put her foot down to not reprise Mandakini's waterfall sequence for the sequel of Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai. The actor is stepping into the shoes of the yesteryear actor in the film.
The portrayal of Mandakini, as we all know, cannot be complete without the famous waterfall sequence in Ram Teri Ganga Maili. But Bebo refused to do the scene as it required her to wear a white sari sans blouse.
According to sources, Kareena, who can get married to Saif anytime, doesn't want to take such career 'risks'. But director Milan Luthria has not given up yet. He is working on the sequence to make it convenient for Bebo.
Akshay Kumar plays a role inspired by Dawood Ibrahim. Kareena plays his love interest.

Farhan Akthar: 'Don 3? I am not saying no

As an actor, he has tasted super success with Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (ZNMD). Now director Farhan Akhtar is gearing up for his upcoming action extravaganza, Don 2. And as the film gets ready for a Diwali release, he accepts "the next few months are going to be important."
"We had a great time making it. For us, the best part was that we didn't have to stick to a certain storyline. We had all the freedom to go out and experiment with our fantasies. And one thing is for sure, it has lot more action than Don - The Chase Begins," says Farhan.
And since the Don 2 promo has received rave reviews, is Don 3 on next? "You know, I didn't think of making a sequel. But now, it's ready. So, I have realised that it's pointless to make permanent statements. And who knows, something else might excite me enough to take it up. Never say never," he says.
Interestingly, even as ZNMD works wonders at box-office, Farhan is yet to work with any other production house besides his own. "I am in discussion with a few producers. In the past too, I agreed to do a few films outside Excel (Entertainment) but nothing worked out eventually. As long as I get a sincere and honest vibe from the other person, I can take up the role," says the 37-year-old filmmaker-actor.
Lastly, since he has already worked with Aamir and Shah Rukh Khan (in Dil Chahta Hai and Don films respectively), is Salman Khan next on the wish-list? "It can only happen if we get an appropriate project for him. Salman is amazing at what he does. But it's all about the right film. It can't be a forced alliance," smiles Farhan.

Vivek Oberoi all set to start shooting for Zila Ghaziabad

When the news first broke about Vivek Oberoi’s forthcoming portrayal of a gangster in Zila Ghaziabad, it is sure to have had Bollywood buffs excited. The prospect is one to look forward to what with Oberoi’s most appreciated roles being those with negative and mafia-like shades. Zila Ghaziabad will see the actor executing the role of Satbir Gujjar who is a teacher-turned-gangster and the movie will also star Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi. Both Dutt and Warsi have commenced shooting for the movie in Wai and Oberoi is all set to join the duo very soon.
Oberoi has recently admitted that he has been spending some time on the accent and dialect required for the role with the help of the writer of the film, Vinay Sharma. Gujjar is thought to have been known as “Masterji” because he was passionate about teaching and his influence was such that circumstances require him to “pick up a gun” in order to bring his village (Zila) in order. Oberoi explains that the role is such that although it is the character of a gangster, he is respected more as a hero than a villain.
Talking about his wife, Priyanka, Oberoi admits that his friends have been very open about the fact that they get on with his lady better then they do with him. Oberoi feels that Priyanka is his “Lady Luck” and reveals how stable he feels after she has come into his life.
Well, it certainly seems as if Priyanka’s footsteps have brought the actor nothing but luck what with Zila Ghaziabad on the cards. Aside from this, the actor will also be seen as the bad guy in Krrish 2. Much about the role is being kept under wraps but the role is sure to put him firmly back on the map. Following these two roles with negative shades, will Oberoi go back to the lover-boy he played in Saathiya? It remains to be seen!
Keep your eyes peeled for more news on BollySpice!

Saif Ali Khan’s Basanti on the sets of Aarakshan

Imagine being stranded in the streets of Bhopal and who comes to your rescue to give you a ride but lead actor, Saif Ali Khan, who also happens to be the Chhote Nawab of Bhopal? This proved to be a real crowd pleaser during the shoot for Prakash Jha’s forthcoming film, ‘Aarakshan’. Every day, a huge crowd gathered outside his hotel and at shooting locations for a glimpse of the actor.
Saif would meet his fans without any starry air about him. Besides signing autographs and getting himself photographed, the actor went out of his way to oblige fans by giving them rides and lifts in the midst of shooting, on the bike that his character uses in the film. While the sets of ‘Aarakshan’ were being set up, Saif would give locals a ride to nearby locations, which proved slightly troublesome for the production team, as sometimes it was hard to trace him. Prakash Jha jokingly named Saif’s bike ‘Basanti’  which rightly fit, as he was spotted taking on not one or two but four passengers at a time. The ease with which Saif mixed with the crowd even surprised his leading lady, Deepika Padukone, who at one point became quite nervous over the numbers that would show up to see their Chote Nawab.
Saif commented, “I quite enjoyed the shooting in Bhopal. It gave me a chance to connect to my childhood time spent there and with the local people.”
From the makers of Box Office superhit, ‘Rajneeti’, ‘Aarakshan’ is a high voltage, socio-political drama based on one of the most contentious Indian government policies of caste-based reservations in government jobs and educational institutions. The film stars veteran of Indian cinema, Amitabh Bachchan, alongside the formidable Saif Ali Khan, beguiling Deepika Padukone and rising star of the Indian screen, Prateik.
Prepare for a controversial exploration of the corruption and caste discrimination that continue to hold back one of the world’s emerging superpowers and tie it to the dark ages, as Reliance Entertainment’s ‘Aarakshan’ causes waves across the nation and beyond from 12th August 2011.

Munni badnaam hui' creates storm in Nepal parliament!

When Indian crooner Mamta Sharma's husky voice combined with glamour girl Malaika Arora's pulse-raising gyrations in Bollywood blockbuster "Dabangg", no one doubted that the raunchy song "Munni badnaam hui darling tere liye" would become an all-time hit in the sub-continent.
However, few could have guessed that almost a year after the film was released, the "item number" - as a song and dance number is called in the Hindi film parlance - would create a mini storm in a most unlikely place: Nepal's parliament.
The song made its appearance in the house Thursday, courtesy former culture minister Minendra Rijal, whose Nepali Congress party is now in opposition and seeking to force Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal's resignation by blockading parliament.

The 53-year-old member of parliament, who confesses to having been an avid Hindi film watcher in his student days, chose to use the popular song to drive home his party's point.
He tacitly likened the Nepali premier to Munni, the woman in the song who is said to have lost her reputation due to a romantic liaison, while the controversial "darling" was none other than Maoist chief and former revolutionary Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda.
It was a dig at the prime minister's alliance with the Maoists, which enabled him to come to power in February but now could make him lose his chair.
The Maoists, with only days left for a constitutional deadline to draw, are pressing the premier to reshuffle the cabinet and induct 24 ministers from their party.
The Nepali Congress has warned it would not allow the reshuffle and has been obstructing parliament since this month, asking Khanal to step down.
The Maoists, on the other hand, have intensified pressure, threatening to withdraw from the government if the reshuffle is stopped.
Referring to Khanal's dilemma in parliament Thursday, the opposition MP said the prime minister was tarnishing his name because of his "darling".
"Don't tarnish your image by choosing as your darling lack of disagreement, conflict and dictatorship," Rijal said, obliquely referring to Prachanda and his party that in the past waged a civil war for 10 years.
While even the beleaguered prime minister's own party men and parliament Chairman Subash Nembang looked amused at the Bollywood reference, others were not.
Sarita Giri, an MP from Terai party Nepal Sadbhavana Party (Anandi Devi), objected, calling the reference sexist.
However, the unflustered Rijal quipped that "darling" had no gender.
In India, politicians have often used hit Hindi film songs in state assemblies to prove a point.
But Nepal, that has a love-hate relationship with Bollywood, looked partly askance at the gesture.
Himalayan Television, a private TV station, said frostily Friday that an august institution like parliament had been reduced to a place for cracking low jokes.

Emraan Hashmi and Vidya Balan’s kisses in The Dirty Picture

shooting of The Dirty Picture is underway and as we told you a few days ago Naseeruddin Shah, who takes on the role of a south-Indian superstar, and Vidya Balan have already filmed a song sequence for the upcoming movie.
The film tells the story of the life of the Southern siren Silk Smitha, played by Vidya Balan. The movie is produced by Ekta Kapoor and directed by Milan Luthria who both last worked together on the hit Once Upon a Time in Mumbai.
Tusshar Kapoor and Emraan Hashmi also star in the movie opposite Vidya Balan. According to sources Vidya Balan is all set to lock lips with Emraan Hashmi. The source told the media “Vidya does not just have a love-making scene with Tusshar, Emraan is also there for a special sequence in the film. And the famous serial kisser will again be doing what he does best — kissing! Emraan has flown to Hyderabad and is currently shooting for the sequence with Vidya now.”
The awaited movie is all set to release on December 2nd, 2011, which is Silk Smitha’s birthday. A source told the media that the reason for this is because down south Silk Smitha was a big sensation and there was a point when “filmmakers could not imagine releasing a film without a titillating song or cameo by Silk.” The source went on to say, “the film is being released on her birthday only to pay tribute to her.”

Bipasha Basu is not dating Josh Hartnett!

Ever since Bipasha Basu split up from John Abraham, she has been linked to a variety of men in both Bollywood and Hollywood.
Bipasha spoke to the media about the variety of link ups that have rumoured to take place since her split from John Abraham. Bipasha said, “I’m touched people feel that I’m supposed to have gone into the serial dating zone, immediately after a long relationship. First there was some Russian guy…then there was Josh.”
The Bollywood actress went onto deny rumours that she was dating Hollywood actor Josh Hartnett, saying that a relationship with the Hollywood actor would not be ‘practical.’ She went on to say, “You can’t have a relationship with a human being living in another part of the world.”
Bipasha has also more recently been linked to fellow actor Shahid Kapoor. When asked what she thought of the rumours Bipasha said, “If the man is cute I don’t mind being linked to him. The moment I am linked to someone who is ‘ugh’, I will protest!”
Bipasha Basu will next be seen on the big screen in the Abbas-Mustan action thriller Players. The Indian remake of the Italian Job is set to release on 23rd December 2011.

Priyanka, Bipasha team for hip-hop number

Priyanka Chopra in a grunge look and Bipasha Basu in a gypsy zippered dress will feature in a hip-hop number in Ganesh Hegde's latest album "Lets Party"
The song, "Mind Blowing", took four days to shoot at a studio in Mumbai. Audiences will see the two leading ladies dancing to the song, which is sung, styled and choreographed by Hegde himself.
"Both Bipasha and Priyanka epitomise all the qualities I'm raving about in the song. I was with each of them for a day and shooting was a breeze," Hegde said in a statement Sunday.
Talking about the look and styling of the song, he said: "Bipasha sports a fringe, gypsy hoops and zippered dress. The fringe was Bipasha's idea. She fell in love with the song instantly and wanted a look that was different from anything you've seen on screen before. She looks like a rockstar!
"Priyanka's also in black, but her look is more Beyonce and her 'attitude' inherent to her is on show."
